Blackjack Double Down Vs Split

Blackjack Double Down Vs Split 3,9/5 9992 reviews

Hey everyone, welcome to another Splitting Deuces video! Here we will be showcasing blackjack sessions and hopefully we can run up a hot shoe once in a while. Bettors can trim the edge further, to about 2 percent, merely by being smart and standing with totals under 17 against certain dealer upcards and hitting soft 17 (A-6) and soft 18 (A-7) against others. They can shave the edge more, to a fraction of a percent, by exploiting opportunities to split pairs and double down.

  1. As you can see, single- and double-deck players must also split against the dealer’s 7 but only provided the house rules allow them to double after pair splits. If NDAS is in effect, you are better off hitting your hard 12 rather than splitting the 6s. The odds tend to slightly favour hitting 6s at NDAS tables instead of splitting.
  2. Basic blackjack strategy charts can help make it easy to learn the basics of when to hit, when to stand, when to double down and when to split pairs in any situation. Basic blackjack strategy charts are tables that list possible hand values on one axis and possible dealer upcard values on the other axis.

Check out the Vegas Blackjack Hand Signals in motion here!

Badly used blackjack hand signals are a perfect way to lose big at the tables, so before you head to the casino, take careful note of the different black jack hand gestures used in the game to avoid running into problems. If you are still unsure, watch what other players do before trying these yourself.

The proper hand signals depend on whether the game is being played ‘face up’ or ‘face down’.

Face Up

Hit – Point at your cards or tap the table.

Stand – Wave your hand from left to right over the cards without moving your arm.

Blackjack Double Down Vs Split

Double Down or Split – Add a second bet in a separate pile next to your first wager. Do not touch the cards as touching the cards is only done on games played with the hands down. Then hold up one finger to double and two to split.

Face Down

Hit – Scrape the table. This is a light gesture usually with the index finger.

Rule

Stand – Gently slide your cards under your chips. Try to do this without moving the chips.

Double Down or Split – Turn your cards over so that they are face up while adding a second bet to the first stack of chips. Hold up one finger to double and two to split.

These hand signals take some time to remember, but if you are willing to put in the effort, simple courtesy along with the above blackjack hand signals guidelines will help you to enjoy a smooth (and hopefully profitable) casino blackjack experience.

When To Split In Blackjack Chart

Should You Split Three's?

A pair of 3's is played just like a pair of 7's, and for similar reasons.

Split against a dealer 2 through 7, otherwise take a hit.

Reasoning

A total of 6 is going to likely wind up as a total of 16. (We're assuming we'll receive a ten.) That's a tough hand, but against a dealer 8 or higher, we're in trouble anyway, so we might as well NOT put more money in the pot.

Against a dealer hand of 12 through 17 (again, assuming that we've got a 10 in the hole), we've got a pretty good shot at either getting a dealer bust, or in the case of the 17, outdrawing the dealer.
